Lethargistical concerns

5:08 PM — Oh my goodness. I’ve been hiding out in my apartment all afternoon. Doing NOTHING. Well, perhaps not nothing. I napped. I ate chips, lots of chips. I watched some dudes catch a badger with a sheet and a dog kennel on YouTube. This was by far the highlight. I started the dishwasher. I contemplated going shopping – I recently threw out my favourite pair of shoes for having holes in the soles, so need some more of those, and after seeing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo last night, I’m thinking the book would be a solid investment – but managed to convince myself every time that the traffic and/or the mall would be annoying. And it’s only going to be more annoying now that most everyone is done work for the day, but I think I might head out anyway. Where does this lethargy come from?

5:14 PM — My mom says my dad will be bbq-ing steaks this evening. That settles it. I’ll head in that general direction! Shall return to the question of lethargy shortly.

9:50 PM — Should have put more bbq sauce on my steak. Less than enthusiastic about tackling lethargy at the moment. More likely to succumb to it.

10:00 PM — Pondering the irony.

10:06 PM — Amusing myself by making fart noises and wondering if expired mouthwash is dangerous in any way.

10:15 PM — I had a particularly bad case of the lethargy on the weekend. Monday and Tuesday were much better – I ran both days, despite the sky hurling wet, stinging ice niblets at us like a monkey flinging feces (thanks J!) – but today has been a relapse. I suspect it’s a combination of needing a holiday, not getting much sun, not running nearly as much as I should, and staying up late. I ran out of vitamins the other day too, so lack of iron could also be a contributor.

10:37 PM — There are deeper issues at stake here, but for now, it’s time to soak in a very hot bath with some very girly bubbles reading a very girly book. Maybe the lethargy will be gone again tomorrow?
